Research Interest
Lightning is a meteorological phenomenon that generates powerful electrical energy, causing electric shocks, fires, and also serious damage to infrastructure and its operations.
The occurrence of lightning is also important in atmospheric science because it is related to the life-cycle of convection systems accompanied by dangerous weather such as heavy rain and hail.
Currently, I am studying the characteristics of lightning occurrence in Korea, as a starting point for research on lightning nowcasting
