| Research Interest |
I have had a deep interest in tropical cyclones (TC) since childhood, so I am continuing to pursue my interests in the lab by doing research on this particular topic. When TCs make landfall, they become one of the most devastating natural disasters, some claiming up to hundreds and thousands of lives. To alleviate the effects of this weather phenomenon, a thorough understanding and accurate prediction of various TC variables including track, intensity, size, and precipitation is necessary. Currently, I am verifying the operational track forecasts of western North Pacific TCs according to TC location and searching for possible causes of forecast error. Ultimately, I hope to contribute to the reduction of damages and casualties induced by TCs by decreasing the error of TC forecasts.
