B.S. in School of Earth System Science, Kyungpook National University, Korea Research Interest I am currently researching seasonal prediction of tropical cyclones (TCs), with a focus on climate change, the activity of typhoons in the western North Pacific, and machine learning. The objective of this research is to predict the path, intensity, and other characteristics of TCs one season ahead of the period of intense TC formation. TCs, which are known by various names worldwide, can cause strong winds, heavy rainfall, and other severe weather conditions, making seasonal prediction information essential for governments and companies to prepare in advance for the damages caused by TCs. I am studying various atmospheric variables that influence the activity of TCs on a seasonal timescale and some of the statistical method for TC prediction, working with a hybrid statistical-dynamical seasonal TC prediction model.
